Shadow Kiss (Vampire Avademy #3) - Book Review

Okay, so I very recently finished reading Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead, which is the 3rd book in the Vampire Academy series. I wrote this review on my Goodreads Account and here it is:

OH MY GOD!!! That book is way too heartwrecking for me to believe what just happened!
Why, Richelle Mead, WHYYY????
The storyline was good and well-paced. The first three quarters of the book were slow but held my attention and then the last part... BAM! Everything happened so fast and I wished those last chapters hadn't happened at all. Like, how am I supposed to move on now?
5/5 stars because I love the characters and this world.

**SPOILERS**
I especially love Dimitri which makes it extra hard for me to go into the next one. I don't know what to do. I feel empty and sad but I think it was worth it. I most definetly will read the next one but not just yet. I need time to recover.
Please, those who have read these books, will it get better?

Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2) book review

Okay, so this is spoiler free and I just finished reading the second book in the Vampire Academy series, Frostbite, and here is my review:

OH MY GOD!!!!!!
Holy shit! That was one hell of a book! I'm in shock! After the first one I wasn't expecting so much action and so much emotional investment, but hey, I've fallen into the amazing pit where you obsess over the book series called Vampire Academy and it is wonderful.
This book has a lot of sorrow and grief and it also has character development and oh my god I can't breathe! What is air!?!
I give this book every star possible to give and more! Amazing, I'm at loss for words. Richelle Mead, you have grabbed my mind and are holding it tight. I completely recommend this book to everyone who knows how to read!!!

A good-luck wish!

Hey, so I just wanted to tell everybody who are participating in the read-a-thon good luck!
And. I will be uploading a wrap-up on Monday so stay tuned. Also; I'm thinking about doing a book-haul after Christmas so that might come on here between Christmas and New-Years.
Hope to see you all again soon!

Christmas Read-a-Thon!

Hey y'all!

So this week-end, a couple of BookTubers decided to host a BookTube-a-Thon.
It starts tonight at midnight (when Thursday ends and Friday begins) and ends on midnight when Sunday ends and Monday comes.
If you don't know already, a read-a-thon is when you take a few days and just read. This is a good way to minimize your TBR pile and also a help to reach your goal on Goodreads if you have one.
Everybody can participate and this will hopefully be a lot of fun. The BookTubers hosting this will also be uptating on the BookTube-A-Thon Twitter site.
The BookTuber hostin are Katytastic, Ariel Bissett and JesseTheReader. (Sorry if I'm forgetting anyone)
But if you are participating, please tell me in the comments what books you're going to be reading and if you made a YouTube video I'd also love to watch it!
Btw, here is my video! Christmas Read-A-Thon TBR

Bonjour mon amis! - Paper Towns by John Green

Hey guys, so I just finished reading Paper Towns by John Green.
So here is a link for the synopsis from Goodreads: Paper Towns by John Green

Well.. It was a great book and a great story, but I just wasn't feeling it and I didn't quite fall into the story. I mean I love John Green and his writing and everything but I guess I was just in a bad mood while reading and I was just kinda annoyed by Margo and stuff but the characters were otherwise really funny and awesome and Q's journey was great.

Anyway, I'm giving this book 3.5/5 stars.
See you guys later!
Btw; Next I'm reading Enclave by Ann Aguire. Keep an eye out for a review!

The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan - Book Review

So you guys, I just recently finished reading The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan, which is the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series.
This book follows three teenagers called Piper, Leo and Jason. The story beginns with them having either no memory or fake memories.
So this is basically about their quest trying to save the world from the Giants, since this book has very much to do with Greek Mythology if you didn't know that already ;-)

My review:
Oh...my...god, Rick Riordan you have done it again. I totally and whole-heartedly LOVED this book, this story, these characters and it was amazing to experience the whole Camp Half-Blood life again (though very differently, I have to admit).
In the beginning you already have a million questions and most of them answered and some I actually realized my self and started squealing in my bed when I was reading and the realizations hit me!
Mr. Riordan, a praise to this amazing masterpiece! Simply can not wait to devour the rext book, The Son of Neptune. Only one request? Don't break my heart into a million pieces. Many authors do that. Authors can be really mean.
Anyway. Totally recommend this book and of course it's prequel; The Percy Jackson series which are also really, really, really amazing.
Oh, Rick Riordan, I simply cannot praise you enough! You are a god! (a greek god.. XD)
Definetly 5/5 stars!

So, definetly check out this book and the Percy Jackson series and hopefully I'll see you guys again later!
Bye!

Graceling by Kristin Cashore - Review

Okay so I totally forgot to do a review on Graceling which I read in November but here it is:

Synopsis
This story is about a girl named Katsa and she is a Graceling. A Graceling is someone who has amazing skills at one particular thing. For example a persons Grace could be cooking, and then he would be an amazing cook, better than everyone else.
Katsa's Grace is killing. She found that out when  she accidentally killed her older cousin (I think it was her cousin, or uncle). You can know every Graceling by their eyes, for their eyes have two colors (ex. one blue and the other green).
Gracelings are not of higher class.. in fact they're feared. As Katsa is the niece of the king, Randa, she is forced to be his thug and do his dirty buissness.
So when she meets a guy named Po, Graced with combat skills, she has no idea what is about to happen that will change her life completely.

Spoiler-free review
I really liked this book. It's action backed from beginning until the end and the little romance we get is really adorable. This is a fantasy novel which has two other companion novels that happen in the same world but with different characters. In this book we can see a corrupted land get better and meet a few extra-characters but mainly follow Katsa (along with two others) as she tries to find out who is decieving the whole land and threatening others.
I found the journey very interesting to follow and the end left me with a smile on my face.

Spoiler review
So. In the beginning we meet Katsa as she is rescueing Tealiff from a dungeon and on this mission she meets Po for the first time. An when he comes to Randa city and they start spending a lot of time together and she grows attatched to him which is something she never expected to happen in her entire life. Then when she finds out Po's real grace and the feelings that rush through her. Oh...my...god...  Then they set out on their journey and after some time travelling she realizes that she's in love with Po! I really liked that moment.
I also really loved the twist when we found out that Bitterblue's father (what's his name again?) is Graced, and the (kind of) final "battle" when Katsa kills him. That was really quick and I wasn't expecting that to be over so quickly and easily. But it was alright.
Then when they got back to Po in the cabin by the mountain and we find out that he is blind and he hurts not being able to see Katsa but she still wants to be with him my heart ached!
I totally ship them.

And... I know that in Kristin Cashore's 3rd book "Bitterblue" she tells Bitterblue's story after she becomes queen! I simply can not wait to get to reading that!

Anyways that it for now, I'll update you with my reading progress later when I've finished my finals...

Bye!

December 6, 2013

Desember is finally here!

Hey everyone, I'm really, really sorry for my absense and lack of posts last month. Hope none of you had a heart attack (just kidding). So. Desember is finally arrived and that means Christmas and holiday vacation and enough time to read read read.

Update from last month: So as you know, I finished Gracelin by Kristin Cashore and I loved it. I only read one other book in November because I was in a huge reading slump after reading Allegiant. But anyways. The other book I read was Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I originally was gonna give it 5/5 stars but then I started thinking, that it didn't really ingage me and suck me in until I got to the end but over all it was really good so I gave it 4/5 stars. However I did not enirely finish it until the beginning of Desember but I read the majority of it in November so I'm counting it for a book for last month.

Update for upcoming days: So I started reading The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan last night which is the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series and I already love it even though I'm only like 4 or 5 chapters in. It's extra exciting because I've read the Percy Jackson series and I loved those so I'm just really excited to continue reding it.
After I finish that I'll most likely read The Son of Neptune which is the second book in the HoO and then after that I'm not sure what I'll read next but I'll figure that out when I get there.

So. Guys. On Desember 29th Brianna Kamyrn is hosting a 24 hour read-a-thon on her blog (link: http://24hourreadathon.blogspot.com/2013/12/24-hour-read-thon-sign-up.html?showComment=1386335424949#c6256399285544555666) so if you're interessed in that be sure to check it out and she also made a video taking al about it (link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9VpIxNJXSM)

I am going to try to participate in it but I'm a really slow reader so I probably wont read many books in 24 hours but I'll read something at least =)

Thanks for reading and hope you have a nice day!

Update on my reading progress

Okay guys, sorry for my lack of posts for the month. I've just been in a huge reading slump these past days. But exciting news, I just finished reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore, and guys... y'all need to read this book, seriously, it's amazing.
Anyway, I'll be posting a book review of it any time soon so stay tuned for that ;-)
So.. Next on my to-read list is probably Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout. The last book, Opal, ended on such an exiting note that my heart and body itches for more of Katy and Daemon, especially Daemon. :3
So anyways, that's it for now, hope to hear from you guys what you think, if you have read either of these books or have any to recommend to me.
"See you" soon!

Still procastinating..

As I said in my last post, I'm about to start reading the fourth book in the Lux series, Origin, by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
I'm totally still procastinating to start it because oh boy, am I scared.
Anywayzee, when I finish Origin I'll be putting up a series review, spoilers and spoiler free so you can check that out when it's up if you like. ;-)
But would you want me to also do a individual review on each of the books in the series, beginning with the first one leading up to the fourth one? I'd spread them over a few days so there'd be time to breathe in between. :-)
Please let me know down in the comments if you like and have a nice day!

October 27, 2013

Currently Reading

Hey guys!
So as you could see I've just finished reading Allegiant and right before that I read the first three books in the Lux series; Obsidian, Onyx and Opal.
Now I'm going to jump into the fourth book, Origin, but I'm super scared of what's going to happen after reading Opal...
But what I would like to know is have you read these books? If so, what are your thoughts on them? But please, don't include any spoilers for those who haven't read them unless you give warning!
Thank you and have a nice day! :)

Allegiant review, **SPOILERS INCLUDED**

Hey guys, so in my last post I said I was going to review Allegiant so here it comes! :-)

As you should know, this is the third and final book in the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. So if you haven't read the first two I suggest you should'n read this, it contains spoilersfor all the books, so if you haven't read them, I suggest you stop reading when you get to this mark: ------------ down below.

Description: (taken from goodreads)

What if your whole world was a lie?
What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

 ----------------------------------

So. This. Book.
In the beginning I was very excited to read this book, I had been waiting for months. So.. you can imagine my reaction of getting it in my hands.
In the first chapters of the book everything seemed to be going just fine and it was a real addition to the book and the story to have chapters from Tobias' point of view.
The story line was a little bit slow I think, but that is just how these books are, slow but action-packed.
I was really excited to finally have them go outside the fence and see what's beyond their world. It hit me hard to find out everything they had been living with was just a lie, an experiment. I really felt for Tobias when they said his genes were damaged, but I was on Tris' side there, it didn't  change anything about who he was.
Then... when Tobias took part in Nita's plan I was really frustrated with him. Also...WHY DID URIAH HAVE TO STAND SO CLOSE TO WHERE THE BOMB EXPLODED!?
I really, really, really, did not want him gone. And.. by having him in a coma half the book, Veronica gave us false hope that he might actually recover.
But the ending was worst. But I kind of expected it after Veronica said that if she had written the Harry Potter books, she would have killed of Harry to give more to the story.
Anyway. That didn't make me feel any better when she had Tris going in that room instead of Caleb. Why, Tris, why? Why didn't you just let Caleb, the traitor, go in there like planned? You would have survived and could have had a good future with Tobias!
It ended really sad, but I loved the journey. Even though I cried my eyes out.

This is it for my review, but I want to know what did you think of the book? Was is a dissapointment from the first two? Did you love it/hate it?
Please tell me down in the comments what you tought, and if you have any books to recommend to me they would be a welcome addition.

See y'all later!

This is my very first attemt to have a book-blog.
I am a 16 year old girl from Iceland and I love to read, I mostly (almost only) read YA books and I'll be posting my TBRs here and review them once I've finished them, and warn if I contain any spoilers. I'll try to keep this as updated as possible for me, and you :)
